With over 150 million streams to his name, praise from the likes of Zane Lowe and BBC’s Jack Saunders, and now a GRAMMY win for songwriting under his belt, the story of LA-based artist/producer Tim Atlas is only beginning.
Born in Oakland and spending much of his adult life in LA, Tim began building a brand as a purveyor of sunny Cali indie pop with early hits like “Compromised” and “Unwind” sounding as fresh as a new pair of sheets. His first EPs—All Talk! [2018], Together Lonely [2019], and QUOTA [2021]—caught the attention of high-profile publications like Complex, SPIN and FLAUNT, the latter of which fittingly christened him “an anomaly in the music industry.” He parlayed this success into multiple North American headline tours, opening slots for artists like Jungle Giants and Magic City Hippies, and performances at festivals like The Great Escape, Noise Pop and M3F.
The West Coast has always had an indelible impact on Tim’s artistry. But shortly before recording his May 2024 debut album Enchanté, he packed his life up and moved across the country, trading LA for the gritty, industrial cityscapes of Brooklyn. What followed was his most experimental music yet, a blend of tender bedroom pop, sultry alt-RnB and psychedelic pop-rock that incorporated themes of love, insecurity, anxiety, trust, and more. Tim notes that Enchanté “represents the different corners of my music that I haven’t showcased.”
As one more accolade, Tim just won his first GRAMMY for his songwriting contributions to gospel singer DOE’s Heart Of A Human. Now based back in LA, Tim is ready to embrace whatever comes next.
