Chosen Few Urbano

Multi-platinum award winning executive producer, filmmaker, and CEO of record label Chosen Few Emerald Entertainment, Inc., Manuel Alejandro Ruiz, better known as Boy Wonder, has spent over a decade exposing the world to the vibrant culture and musical sounds of Reggaeton and its rising stars.
Internationally recognized for his cutting edge documentaries showcasing the Latino Urbano Movement, Boy Wonder and Chosen Few Emerald Entertainment have compiled the 4th installment of the multiplatinum Chosen Few CD/DVD compilation series – Chosen Few Urbano – “El Journey”. The project exposes their newest musical venture.
The highly anticipated documentary/soundtrack compilation highlights some of the best and hottest international Urbano artists from around the world and takes viewers on a thrilling musical journey. The individual movement of each featured artist will transport the audience through in depth interviews in their respective countries. The compilation will also feature their songs and accompanying videos.

Over the years, Chosen Few has reached chart-topping heights with the release of its first project, Chosen Few: El Documental (2004), which showcased the then underground Reggaeton movement and the overall sense of the culture. The documentary’s soundtrack garnered the 2005 Billboard Award for Best Latin Compilation of the Year. It also was multi-platinum certified by the RIAA, and its single, the megahit “Reggaeton Latino” by Don Omar spent 44 weeks on Billboard and became the 2nd biggest crossover track in Reggaeton history (2nd to Daddy Yankee’s “Gasolina”.)
Chosen Few El Documental is credited as helping put a face to a name with the Reggaton Genre with such artist Don Omar etc etc

In 2005, Boy wonder alongside Chencho from the Reggaeton duo Plan B, developed an idea for an underground compilation album, El Draft, created to find the next Reggaeton superstar. With this development, the world was introduced to the first worldwide Urbano music competition won by the critically acclaimed Puerto-Rican power duo RKM y Ken Y. The same competition also jump-started the careers of Jowell y Randy and Fuego among others in the genre.
The following year, Chosen Few released Chosen Few II: El Documental, a film that captured the rise of Reggaeton’s second generation and went double platinum, spending months in the Top 5 of Billboard’s Latin Sales Charts. In 2008, Chosen Few III: The Movie was released.
Having previously introduced artists such as Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, Mala Rodriguez, and Wisin y Yandel, Boy Wonder now presents to the U.S. music market the rising stars of global urban Latin music to a wider audience in which similar chart-busting results are to be expected. The accompanying DVD-documentary, features exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of artists such as Pitbull, Chino y Nacho, Jowell y Randy, Omega, Arcangel, Lucenzo and others.
The new documentary and its soundtrack features 18 new and exclusive tracks from a bevy of artists including Flex, Chino y Nacho, J Alvarez, Lucenzo, Omga, Juan Magan, Arcangel and Chosen Few Entertainment’s very own JENNY “LA SEXY VOZ” – the voice behind Billboard chart hits such as Wisin y Yandels “Rakata,” Aexis y Fido “Eso Eh,” Daddy Yankee and Yandel’s “Paleta,” just to name a few -and the winner of the Chosen Few 2012 Challenge CHIKO SWAGG. The project also features the hit song “No Hay Amigo” by baseball superstar Jose Reyes, featuring Vakero, Big Mato, Julio Voltio, and Poeta Callejero.

Highlights:
The remix of “Latin Girl,” the lead single of the project featuring Chosen Few’s Jenny “La Sexy Voice,” Omega, Cosculluela, Jowell y Randy, and De La Ghetto, shows signs of eclipsing the chart success of the original version – a chart staple for much of 2012.
“Perreame/Tu Me Dices” (Chosen Few Remix), by Jowell y Randy feat. Jenny “La Sexy Voz” is a #1 club hit in Puerto Rico and it’s on path to replicate the same level of
success in the US.
Jenny “La Sexy Voz’s” debut single “Murio” (a spanish language version of Rihanna’s hit “Man Down”) has all the making of a latin-pop smash.
“Sin Compromiso” by Jowell y Randy featuring Colombian sensation J Balvin, has already been a huge radio hit across the world.
Chosen Few Urbano Challenge winner, Chiko Swagg’s debut single “Solo Tu y Yo”, a reggae tinged track that is sure to make you dance, released to great critical acclaim on August 15th.
In support of El Journey’s release, Chosen Few’s Boy Wonder, Jenny “La Sexy Voz” and Chiko Swagg, will embark on a nationwide promotional tour this coming September through October, that will take them to such cities as New York, Miami, Puerto Rico, Houston, and Los Angeles.
