Existing earlier as The Gramophone Company of Pakistan, EMI (Pakistan) Ltd. came into being under its current name in 1972. Today, it owns is the largest music archive in Pakistan. Its rich library boasts a range of genres, from pure classical, ghazals, qawwalis, spoken word, instrumentals to film soundtracks and pop.
