Wesley Hogges recently renewed his administration agreement with The Royalty Network for an additional three years. An accomplished songwriter and producer, Wesley recently co-wrote several songs on Jaheim’s album “Ghetto Classics.” In addition to his work with Jaheim, Hogges has also penned songs for artists including Blackstreet, Donell Jones, Sonique, and Guy. Wesley’s songs are published via his Hood Classic (ASCAP) catalog.

We recently signed an agreement with James “Pookie” Hudson. As lead singer of the R&B group The Spaniels, Pookie helped the group become the first successful R&B group from the Midwest. The Spaniels formed in 1952 when the members joined together to perform for a school talent show. The group eventually signed to Vee-Jay Records and went on to score chart success with hits such as “Goodnight, Sweetheart, Goodnight.” Along the way, Pookie helped pioneer a new style as The Spaniels were one of the first groups to perform with the lead singer on one microphone and the rest of the group on another. Pookie’s powerful voice and unique style have influenced generations of singers. We are pleased to welcome him to the Network.

Chevelle Franklyn (Chevelle Watts) (www.chevellefranklyn.com) recently signed an administration agreement with The Royalty Network. Chevelle is a talented songwriter, producer, and performer who focuses on making great gospel music. She signed her first record deal with RCA when she was just 17 years old. She has collaborated with artists such as Beres Hammond, Papa San, Spragga Benz, and Shabba Ranks. After recording with some of the biggest names in Jamaican music in the early part of her career, Chevelle decided (on stage during a performance!) that she wanted to change the direction of her life and her music. She became a Christian and began to make gospel music. Since then, she has released 2 solo albums of gospel songs, garnered several Caribbean Gospel Music Marlin Awards, and continued to tour the world and work with some of the biggest names in music. We look forward to hearing great things from Chevelle in the future.
