We recently signed a publishing administration agreement with the members of the UK band South (www.south.uk.net). Band members Joel Cadbury, Jamie McDonald, and Brett Shaw started playing together when they were 13. The trio broke into the music business as remixers. In the late 1990s, they signed to James Lavelle’s Mo’ Wax Recordings in the UK. Their debut album, fused electronic beats with “From Here On In,”hushed vocals and dark acoustics. They returned with a new album on a new label (Kinetic) in 2003. The album, “With The Tides,” was produced by Dave Eringa and represented a step forward for the band. When Kinetic folded in 2005, the band found themselves without a label. They signed with the newly formed Young American Recordings in 2005, and went into the studio to work on their self-produced third album. The result was “Adventures in the Underground Journey to the Stars,” a more upbeat affair that incorporates elements of dance, electronica, and rock into a more a straightforward, accessible record. In addition to their albums, the band’s music has been featured in TV shows including “The O.C.” and “C.S.I.” The band continues to evolve with each release, and we look forward to working with them. All three band members are affiliated with PRS.
