VITAMIN C

Long before Colleen Fitzpatrick scored a number one album by writing and producing "Let's Get Crazy" for Miley Cyrus on the Hannah Montana Movie sound track album, she had broad success as an artist, actress, and songwriter. Colleen had worldwide success after writing and recording the anthem “Graduation (Friends Forever),” the perennial hit that has become a staple on top 40 radio, Radio Disney and graduation ceremonies around the world. “Graduation” was on her platinum selling album, “Vitamin C” (Elektra) for which she wrote the lion’s share of the songs. This album included other top 40 hits, “Smile” and “The Itch.”

Before her success as Vitamin C, Colleen was the lead singer and one of the principal writers of the pop punk band Eve’s Plum (SONY). Colleen began her career as a dancer/singer originating the role of Amber Von Tussle in John Waters’ feature Hairspray. She grew up singing dancing and playing piano while earning her BA in Dramatic literature from NYU where she began playing and singing in bands. In addition to writing music, Colleen is a partner in VCR, a production company that develops music based entertainment brands. One of these acts, The Stunners, is signed to Columbia Records and is developing a television series with Lions Gate Entertainment.

It’s been a great run for the past year, with three major Ad placements of the song “Smile”. The latest use of the song is by WAL MART Stores, in their 2009 Brand Video Ad. The prior uses consisted of KRAFT’s use in their ‘Macaroni & Cheese’ Ad, and a renewal for the ‘TIDE with Dawn’ commercial. A true testament to the success a great song brings to the advertising world.
