 | Kwame "K1 Mil"
After topping the charts as a rap pioneer, Kwame “K1 Mil,” makes his mark as one of the top producers in urban music. Creating a presence in the now old-school realm of hip-hop, Kwame took the music to another level with an original brand of humorous, good-natured rhymes. On the mic or behind the scenes, Kwame launched several successful solo albums, co-wrote Bell Biv Divoe’s “Poison” and produced the remix of Envouge’s hit single “Lies.”
After a three-year hiatus, Kwame got back in the game writing songs and scoring for HBO’s Dancing In September and the independent film Ghetto Dog. Soon after, he teamed up with producer Ron Lawrence to create music for the Mary J. Blige song “L.O.V.E.,” which appears on her double platinum album No More Drama (MCA). The momentum continued with production on Lady May’s single “Round Up” f/ Blu Cantrell for the Lady’s debut album May Day (Arista), “10 Million Stars” on LL’s 10 (Def Jam), Dru Hill’s “No Doubt” from their latest effort Dru Hill Order (Def Soul) and “Scared of You,” performed by Nick Cannon, featured in both the film and soundtrack to Drumline.
Look out for Kwame on upcoming projects for Philly’s Most Wanted featuring Freeway and Sheik (Universal) and the indi, top-40 record, “Give It 2 Me” from Miami based girl group, J’Zebehl(Green Street).
