DJ Muggs
It was unprecedented critical and popular acclaim of the 1991 self-titled debut album from Cypress Hill that helped create the signature sound of DJ Muggs. Crafting production for numerous Cypress Hill albums, coupled by blatant lyrical marijuana endorsement, fostered a trademark style and image to follow. His subsequent plethora of production credits, including House of Pain's self-titled debut and his own solo projects, "Muggs Presents Soul Assassins," "Muggs Presents…II" have kept Muggs suspended in the limelight. |

As of recent, Muggs and B-Real recorded a song with Roni Size, released as the first single from the "Blade 2" soundtrack. Another solo project is expected on Epitaph Records, as well as the next Soul Assassins album and tracks for GZA's upcoming release. Muggs is a true pioneer who mastered the art of appealing to listeners in and out of the urban market, capturing alternative rock audiences while grounded in hip-hop…long before Fred Durst made his attempt to reach both rock and urban listeners. Muggs's Soul Assassins Music (ASCAP) catalog is administered by The Royalty Network, Inc. worldwide (excluding the U.S.) since April 1,1999. |
